The Volkswagen Hover Car

In the 2012 Beijing Auto Show, the car called “The People’s Car” made its debut and amazed people with the technology ideas of internet users that submitted ideas of the car of the future.

Last year, in 2011 Volkswagen asked people to create their ideas of what the cars in the future would look like. A young girl by the name of Wang Jia, from Chengdu, China submitted her idea on the Car of the Future to Volkswagen who in turn, made her the car of her dreams. See her design below.

A car with no wheels, was presented in her home town, and her parents were invited to drive the new hover car their daughter designed. Her mom said “How can this car have no wheels?” her dad said ” I’ve never seen anything like this”.

Wang Jia’s mom beamed with pride talking about her daughter “she has always been a creative girl, she always surprises us with interesting ideas”. Then, her parents got into the car and took it for a spin, or rather a Hover. Then they said “we’ve always believed in her talents”.

The engine starts with no keys, just the push of a button, and then rises above the ground effortlessly, then they take off above the ground through the streets of Chengdu. The city of Chengdu has a lot of unique minerals underground, and the Hover Car using amazing technology reacting with the minerals in the ground to float.

This Volkswagen car has no wheels, runs on no gas, has zero emissions, no batteries and amazingly receives its power from the reaction to minerals in the ground. The vehicle uses an electromagnetic network to float above the ground, not on the ground. The car travels up to 37 miles per kilometer, which is great for inner city traveling and short trips with in city streets.

The Hover car runs on auto-pilot, with a GPS system it can drive you home without you lifting a finger or turning a wheel. It has voice recognition, and is activated by voice commands.

It also has a Safety Sensor, that moves the vehicle according to the travel speed and its distance to other cars! The vehicle can calculate the ideal speed for the surrounding traffic and when it senses another car ahead it stops automatically. A great safety feature to prevent accidents and dents while driving or parking.

Yes, Wang Jia is now a car inventor and with her idea Volkswagen made it happen, now that is progress!

Cette voiture volante de Volkswagen est un concept de véhicule capable de se déplacer en vol stationnaire afin de transporter des personnes de la même manière que le ferait une voiture moderne… mais à quelques centimètres du sol. Vous devez simplement la diriger comme vous le feriez avec un véhicule normal, la seule différence étant qu’elle ne touche pas le sol lorsqu’elle se déplace.

C’est la grande trouvaille d’un concours chinois,

L’objectif etait de définir quelle serait la voiture du futur. Le constructeur Volkswagen a organisé un énorme concours sur ce thème Le projet de voiture du peuple vient de la reflexion d’une jeune étudiante chinoise. Parmi près de 119 000 candidatures, c’est son idée concept de voiture volante qui a été retenue par la marque. Le véhicule vedette voiture volante aux formes arrondies, a remporté le coeur des juges.

Le véhicule dispose de capteurs de distance qui permettent à l’engin d’éviter d’entrer en collision avec d’autres véhicules sur la route.

La voiture sera contrôlée par un joli joystick arrondi sur lequel la main repose (façon système de contrôle de rame de métro), et qui semble être très facile à utiliser
